I remember getting excited about this book since it first came out around three years ago, but I was only able to get my hands on it last March. From the start, Adolf Hitler finds himself in Berlin, Germany 2015 with no explanation how he got there, though it's not for Hitler to ask why he lives again, his job is to complete his mission in life. A kiosk owner finds him and immediately contacts TV agents about the unmistakable talent he came across. He quickly becomes viral as a comedian who resembles Hitler and uses a funny yet eyeopening method to make sure nothing like the WWII ever happen again. This book doesn't need much explaining, the plot is quite straightforward I honestly thought it would take a witty approach to the normal "coming back from the dead" concept, but no this was a realistic read about a sadistic evil villain who can manipulate situations to his own benefit and still looks completely innocent. This book is known for being funny, and it is the scenes with Hitler engaging with citizens, or when he discovers new technology (The cell phone scene is my favorite) It really shows you the difference between generations especially with the unexplainable time gap in a humorous way, I found myself laughing out loud in some parts of it. The Jewish Daily Forward, Gavriel Rosenfeld described the novel as "Slapstick," but with a "moral message." I couldn't agree more the bitter truth is that Hitler still has a place in today's world. Just like every other dictator does. Just because he died and we have moved on from WWII doesn't mean we actually learned our lessons when it comes to people who try to separate us. Evil people have a place amongst us. Four stars.
